The Ston saltworks are the oldest and the biggest preserved ones from the Mediterranean history. Originated as far as the prehistoric period, with their today's form dating from the time of the Republic of Dubrovnik and their entire system, they perfectly present the complex salt production from the Middle Ages, and thus represent a first-class cultural monument and a perfect tourist destination. The production method has not changed throughout all these centuries, and in such ecological healthy conditions it guarantees the maintaining of an excellent salt quality, to satisfy all requirements of an advanced modern time economy.

The experts will project on a wall of salt the story of the most important salinas, explaining you the technic used for harvesting salt. Then you will enjoy lunch with possibility to taste the oysters produced there.
